HISTORY

Francophone immigration to Nova Scotia :

A success story since 2003!

In 2003, an ambitious project was born: to encourage Francophone immigration to Nova Scotia
Essential partnerships with the Fédération acadienne de la Nouvelle-Écosse (FANE) and the federal and provincial governments have made it possible to :

  • Promote Nova Scotia to French-speaking immigrants.
  • Recruiting and welcoming newcomers.
  • Facilitate the integration of immigrants into the Francophone community.
Since 2006, Immigration francophone de la Nouvelle-Écosse has helped thousands of newcomers settle and thrive in Nova Scotia.
  • Information and orientation
  • Job search assistance
  • Language courses
  • Social and community support

Mandate

Immigration francophone de la Nouvelle-Écosse pursues the following objectives:

  • Increase the number of Francophone newcomers who settle in Nova Scotia and retain them;
  • Promote the integration of these newcomers into the province, and more specifically into the Acadian and Francophone community;
  • To increase the welcoming and integration capacity of Nova Scotia's Acadian and Francophone communities.
